A Sartorial Affair

Ok, so here's the deal, its no secret to those who know me that any piece of tailoring is something I highly admire and have appreciation for, a perennial favorite of mine. So much so that catching someone in my peripheral visions dressed all out in 3-piece suit with perfectly cut trousers nipped in all the right places with just the correct amount of break - "oooohhh child!” Honestly, its bliss!

But on a serious level, for those with a sartorial incline not wanting to settle for your bog standard color block suit or ensemble, experimenting with fabrics and textures, tones and accents of pattern is a great way to hold your stand as a paragon of all things stylish. Take time and do some research, a mine through images from the 20's, 30's and 40's is truly captivating where it was almost in ones innate ability to style a waistcoat, blazer, trousers you name it! Even when it came to casual dressing down with work wear etc., they did it best!

Too many times an un-matching suit if done incorrectly can easily make you look like...well lets just say a waiter or a clown for instance. Be very careful with being overly experimental and the best advice I can give, is don't buy it as a stand-alone "mass" piece unless you're blessed with that "artistic eye" as i call it. As part of a suit you're guaranteed good tailoring and a safe option to wear as part of your 3-piece. But if you’re confident and want a new dimension to your style definitely push the boat and start being a little playful with traditional tailoring.
